João approached us to support the renovation of his Principe Real apartment in Lisbon. He was looking for the natural warmth of real wood but with reliability of a stable floor system.

For this project we specified 190mm wide Select Grade engineered oak boards from our Classic Collection — chosen for their calm tone and subtle variation.

The subfloor was carefully levelled with 4mm of Ardex compound, then primed and glued before receiving wood flooring. A final coat of clear, non-yellowing hardwax oil brought out the quiet beauty of the oak.

The result is timeless: clean, confident, and crafted to be lived in.
